Hubble Telescope Finds Source of Cosmic Stream Near Milky Way

For decades, scientists cannot explain the so-called Magellan, current source of natural gas found in the early 1970 s, nearly half of the extended a long ribbons around the galaxy. But the new data from NASA's Hubble space telescope to help astronomers solve crimes. Observation showed no formed a stream, but the ribbon is the large Magellanic cloud and the small Magellanic cloud hanging around two satellite galaxies of the Milky Way is less than 200000 light-years away in different time from stripping material combination. About 200 million years ago, the researchers said, material part of the small Magellanic cloud created by the gas filament, and the second area of flow originated in the large Magellanic cloud recently. The team determine the abundance of heavy elements in 6 different locations using the Hubble space telescope's cosmic origins spectrograph along the Magellanic stream source ribbons, according to a statement from NASA. (scientists can detect these distant heavy metals through their absorb ultraviolet light.) The researchers say,
